Krell IPX Products

Overview Software Hardware Pricing

At the heart of the Krell hardware is the Multimedia Video DSP (digital signal processor). Driven by our Image Processing eXecutive™ (IPX™) MV-DSP operating system software, with real-time interactive video process controls at full video frame rates, you get full use of each of the DSP's raw horsepower for your real-time imaging engine needs. CLICK-N-PLAY, NO PROGRAMMING REQUIRED!!

The Krell IPX products include an software package off our shelf or one tailored to your equipment's video output, one or more Multimedia Video DSP PCI processor boards, and a solid Windows NT™ platform if a host computer is not available. System configurations come in 2 BOPS, 4 BOPS, 6 BOPS and 8 BOPS. With an 8 BOPS machine, you can also include a 64 BOPS unit which can be daisy-chained to provide whatever level of processing power you may need. Since NT Workstation is the host environment, you can even plug the Krell System into a network, allowing your customers to archive and share their images.

In the Krell-1 illustration above NTSC or PAL Video is captured by the Krell MV-DSP PCI board from your imaging tool, whether it is a camera, an x-ray machine, a microscope, radar system, sonar system, or any equipment with video output. All video processing is done on the Krell MV-DSP PCI board, leaving the Windows NT host free for sending and receiving commands between the IPX OS running on the Krell MV-DSP and the IPX GUI interface.

The IPX system software interface uses point-and-click pulldown menus for the input selections, preset modes, and algorithm pipeline setups. Interactive graphic slider controls are utilized for capture setup and on-the-fly algorithm adjustments.

The output results are viewed in SVGA high resolution in real-time on a separate output monitor. Output images can also be saved to disk for later viewing, networking, or archiving.
